About the position

The Tableau Developer / Data Analytics Senior role at Elevance Health is a pivotal position responsible for coordinating and consolidating various impact analyses for management reporting. This role is designed for a professional who can establish, improve, and optimize the consolidating processes for forecast and month-end results. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid model, balancing remote work with time spent in the office, and should reside within 50 miles of one of the Elevance Health PulsePoint locations, which include cities such as Columbus, OH; Mason, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Chicago, IL; Manchester, NH; and Boston, MA. In this role, you will be tasked with consolidating and preparing executive summary reports for various business segments within the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) to facilitate top management decision-making. You will develop requirements for data visualization based on business problem statements and create and publish periodic reports, along with any necessary ad hoc reports. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you analyze data and summarize performance using summary statistical procedures. You will also be responsible for designing solutions to address varied and highly complex business needs, collaborating with both business and technical areas to implement new or enhanced products. Additionally, you may coordinate with external audits as appropriate and act as the central contact with internal departments and external auditors. This role requires a strong understanding of products, internal business models, and data systems, making it essential for the candidate to have a comprehensive background in data analytics and business intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Consolidates and prepares executive summary reports for various business segments in the SBU for top management decision-making.
• Develops requirements for data visualization from business problem statements.
• Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
• Makes recommendations and presents based upon data analysis.
• Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
• Analyzes and designs solutions to address varied and highly complex business needs.
• Collaborates with businesses and technical areas to implement new or enhanced products.
• Coordinates with external audits as appropriate.
• Acts as the central contact with internal departments and external auditors.

Requirements

• Requires a BS/BA degree in Statistics, Economics, or Business Administration.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
• Strong knowledge of products, internal business models, and data systems.

Nice-to-haves

• 3-5 years of Tableau experience strongly preferred.
• Snowflake experience strongly preferred.
• 3-5 years experience in SAS Programming preferred.
• Healthcare Claims Data experience strongly preferred.
• Database Management experience, including performance tuning, table/view creation experience desired.
• Experience in Job Scheduling platforms (Control-M) desired.
• Experience providing leadership in evaluating financial performance of complex organizations strongly preferred.
• Excellent leadership, problem solving, organizational, planning, presentation and interpersonal skills strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and draw up plans to address issues/concerns strongly preferred.
• Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is strongly preferred.
• Ability to manipulate large sets of data strongly preferred.
