About the position

The Tableau Developer with Government Experience will be responsible for designing and building visualizations, generating user requirements, and creating reports and data analytics solutions. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders and technical assistance to agency staff, ensuring efficient performance of reports and dashboards. The position is hybrid, allowing for both remote and on-site work, and is contracted for a duration of 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to design and build visualizations.
• Generate and evaluate user requirements and identify data sources to support those requirements.
• Build data extracts and create reports and data analytics solutions.
• Develop test plans and test visualizations to ensure efficient performance of reports, dashboards, and queries.
• Provide technical assistance to agency staff on the use of Tableau.
• Contribute to agency data visualization policy, including training requirements, testing, and approvals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• At least 3 years of government client experience is required.
• 10+ years of experience in building, customizing, and publishing Tableau interactive reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
• Intermediate knowledge of SQL and knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• 5+ years of experience in communicating complex analytical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in managing complex data from multiple data sources and understanding new datasets and data structures.
