About the position

The Tableau Developer will be responsible for providing dashboards and critical end-to-end production support for metric reporting routines within the financial industry. This role involves building and enhancing Tableau reports and dashboards, creating ad hoc reports, and performing data manipulation across various sources. The developer will collaborate with business partners to design new reports based on their requirements and ensure timely delivery of reporting needs while proactively identifying and fixing code or macro issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provides dashboards and critical end to end production support of metric reporting routines
  • Build or enhancement of Tableau reports and dashboards
  • Ad hoc report creation or data refresh, import and manipulation of data across varied sources
  • Data mining, trending analysis, data aggregation, key risk indicator reporting
  • Creating SQL infrastructure to store required data
  • Risk program metrics analysis, performance/milestone analytics, success analytics to identify areas of discrepancy and possible at-risk controls
  • Collaborating with business partners to design and build new reports based on their business requirements
  • Consistent, timely delivery of report builds or modifications in Tableau environment
  • Timely delivery of reporting requirements using existing macros and code
  • Proactive identification of code or macro breaks
  • Successful application of macro/code fixes and creation
  • Demonstrated ability translate users' needs into reports or dashboards
  • Reliable application of advanced Excel and SQL skills to produce reporting in an efficient, timesaving manner
  • Effective prioritization of workbench deliverables
  • Timely follow-up on reporting requests and questions

Requirements

  • Moderate-to-advanced Tableau dashboard creation/modification (5+ years)
  • Moderate-to-advanced SQL skills (5+ years)
  • Advanced, expert Excel skills (5+ years)
  • MicroStrategy or other reporting business intelligence tool (5+ years)
  • Analytics experience - dissect, distill, and simplify data (7+ years)
  • Data mining experience (7+ years)
  • Significant attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability capture, manipulate and clean data from multiple sources and systems of record
  • Ability to remain nimble and positive when priorities change and ad hoc needs arise
  • Shows a sense of urgency and attention to detail as standard work practice
  • Strong collaboration skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree or certification in business data analytics or data visualization
  • Experience with Power Queries and Excel VBA (6+ months)
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry or financial institution
  • Previous interaction with senior level managers
  • Experience creating dashboard reports or analytics
