About the position

Torch Technologies is currently seeking a Senior-level Data Scientist proficient in Tableau to lead data visualization efforts, develop dashboards, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver valuable insights. The successful candidate will perform in-depth system performance and interoperability analyses for Missile Defense Agency (MDA) system-wide flight tests, ground tests, and simulation-based testing. This role requires providing analytical support throughout all phases of system-level test events, including pre-mission predictive analysis, on-site quick-look analysis, and post-mission detailed analysis. Utilizing existing and off-the-shelf tools, the Data Scientist will process multiple data sources for MDS performance analysis and visualization. The candidate will be responsible for generating and presenting test analysis planning documentation, test readiness briefs, quick-look reports, and detailed analysis reports to MDA leadership. Supporting the end-to-end analysis process is crucial, which includes ETL, scripting, dashboard development, and storyboarding to characterize system performance, identify anomalies, and communicate results effectively. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, or another technical discipline, along with 5+ years of experience. Extensive experience with Tableau is required, and familiarity with tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Python, Jira, and Confluence is desired. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop storyboards for clearly presenting findings and trends to senior leadership. Curiosity for knowledge and understanding, self-initiative, leadership, and customer interface skills are essential for success in this role. Additionally, the ability to clearly express ideas/concepts, perform as part of a team, and operate in a multi-tasking environment is necessary. Some experience analyzing missile defense systems is desired but not mandatory. A minimum Secret level security clearance is required to access classified information, and U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite for this position.
