About the position

TGC Global is seeking a Tableau Developer for a 6+ month onsite assignment in Richmond, VA. The role focuses on supporting the build-out and transition of reporting to Tableau, ensuring smooth operation and performance of the Tableau platform. The position emphasizes a proactive customer service approach and requires strong technical skills in Tableau and database management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, tuning, and administration of the Tableau platform.
• Monitor performance in collaboration with Enterprise Infrastructure to ensure smooth operation and resolve performance issues.
• Perform daily monitoring of servers/systems and respond quickly to alerts.
• Apply patches and upgrades as necessary.
• Support the change management process for controlling and documenting code according to established processes and standards.
• Utilize troubleshooting skills to systematically break down problems and document findings.

Requirements

• Very strong to expert knowledge in Tableau 8.x.x series.
• Strong reports development and database experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills and integrative thinking.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Tableau Mobile App.
• Knowledge of server monitoring, troubleshooting, patch strategy, and disaster recovery.
• Coding knowledge and ability to develop custom monitoring reports.
• Experience with WebLogic, Apache Web Servers, and Windows Virtual environments.
• Familiarity with databases including SQL Server, Teradata, DB2, and Oracle.
