About the position

As a Tableau Developer at Peraton, you will play a crucial role in creating data visualization solutions that enhance business processes and support decision-making for government clients. This position involves developing complex Tableau reports and dashboards, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with software standards in a secure facility.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, conduct unit testing and maintain complex Tableau reports for scalability, manageability, extensibility, performance and re-use.
  • Provide technical expertise in areas of architecture, design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create useful reports and dashboards that provide insight and improve processes.
  • Work through iterative review cycles to deliver results that meet or exceed user expectations.
  • Develop solutions that comply with software standards, regulations, and guidelines, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Work closely with users to understand their needs and analyze software requirements, ensuring solutions are feasible within time and cost constraints.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to team and customer Tableau users.

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing and working with Tableau-driven dashboards and analytics.
  • Demonstrable advanced Tableau development skills.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau administration/architecture.
  • Ability to interpret technical or dashboard structures and translate complex business requirements to technical specifications.
  • High-level competency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of SQL, RDBM systems, data modeling and normalization.
  • Understanding of advanced calculations and statistical functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze user needs and develop solutions within time and budget constraints.
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management, Change Management, and Security policies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Security+ or other IAT II/III level certification that is currently active.
  • Quality assurance experience.
  • Experience with data warehousing and integration tools.
  • Major or minor in mathematics.
