About the position

The SQL/Snowflake - Tableau Developer position at Aloden Inc. in Raleigh, NC, is a contract role that requires an expert in data analysis and visualization, particularly focused on School Business Data. The enterprise operates within a complex, multi-platform data environment that includes Amazon AWS/Snowflake and Microsoft Azure, alongside Tableau and Power BI. The technologies in use encompass Oracle, DB2, MySQL, and SQL Server, as well as desktop applications like MS Access and MS Excel. The primary goal of this role is to establish an enterprise data model that standardizes shared data entities and attributes, while also standardizing database management systems and tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading data analysis projects across the client enterprise, providing insights and expertise to enhance data reporting and visualization capabilities. The role demands a strong understanding of various database platforms and data warehousing concepts, particularly in AWS/Snowflake and Azure environments. The developer will be tasked with designing and delivering data mapping specifications for large reporting platforms, writing and maintaining business rules using SQL logic, and executing projects in an Agile or Hybrid environment. The position also requires the ability to adapt to frequent changes in the technical landscape and to provide training and support to other developers and analysts in the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis and leadership on data analysis projects across the Client enterprise focusing on School Business Data.
• Provide insight to other data analysts, data architects, and application developers related to creating an enterprise data reporting model that meets Client school business and technical requirements.
• Provide subject matter expertise and training to other SQL/Snowflake and Tableau developers and analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a technology-related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering) with a focus on programming, data structure, data visualization.
• 7 years of experience with SQL databases and related ETL and advanced data validations in Snowflake and Azure, and data visualization using Tableau/Power BI.
• 7 years of understanding of different database platforms: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, and MS Access.
• 7 years of understanding of Data Warehousing (AWS/Snowflake and Azure) and data mining for reporting and analysis.
• 7 years of experience designing and delivering data mapping specifications for large reporting platforms, writing and maintaining business rules using SQL logic.
• 7 years of demonstrated experience in writing ad-hoc SQL statements.
• 7 years of proven experience with ERD/Data Modelling tools (Toad or others).
• 7 years of experience with data reporting tools, especially Tableau (and preferably also Power BI, Viya, others).
• Experience in executing projects in an Agile/Hybrid environment.
• Demonstrated technical ability in learning new technologies and adapting to frequent changes in the technical environment.
