About the position

The Tableau Developer position at The AES Group involves designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and visualizations to support data-driven decision-making. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into effective visual solutions, ensuring high performance and usability of Tableau dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement interactive and visually appealing Tableau dashboards and reports to meet business needs.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand objectives, and translate them into Tableau visualizations.
  • Optimize and enhance existing Tableau dashboards, ensuring high performance, scalability, and usability.
  • Perform data analysis and provide insights by connecting and integrating data from multiple sources (SQL, Excel, cloud databases, etc.).
  • Develop calculated fields, parameters, sets, groups, and other complex functionalities within Tableau.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Tableau development, data connectivity, and performance optimization.
  • Maintain documentation for all Tableau dashboards, reports, and data models.
  • Stay up-to-date with Tableau best practices and emerging trends in data visualization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Tableau development, including experience creating complex dashboards and visualizations.
  • Proficiency in data visualization principles, with a strong portfolio showcasing Tableau dashboard work.
  • Advanced knowledge of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server (or Tableau Online).
  • Strong SQL skills; experience with data modeling and working with complex data sets.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Tableau Prep or other data preparation tools.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
  • Certification in Tableau Desktop or Server is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
