About the position

As our Tableau Engineer, you'll have an impactful role helping our team make data-driven business decisions. In your partnership, you'll work closely with our Lead BI Engineer to gain a deep understanding of complex data sets and use that understanding to create visually appealing and insightful dashboards & reports for one of our top clients. To thrive in this role, you will work with Tableau and Microsoft (Azure) SQL Server to create efficient data models, build new reports, modify existing reports, and use data storytelling to help answer questions from internal and external stakeholders. This position is a contract, temporary role through December 2024 with the potential of an extension.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop and document requirements for reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
• Create efficient data models using Tableau and Microsoft (Azure) SQL Server.
• Build new reports and modify existing reports to meet business needs.
• Use data storytelling techniques to provide insights to internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare data with SQL/Tableau to meet reporting requirements.
• Build intuitive and visually appealing data visualizations using Tableau.
• Present reports and visualizations to the team and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with Tableau or SQL.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with team members and stakeholders.
• Analytical and solution-oriented mindset for estimating required effort for report development.
• Ability to coordinate deployment of new reports and dashboards with the engineering team.
• Effective communication skills to ensure comprehensive understanding of reporting requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in Tableau (e.g., Tableau Server Certified Associate).
