About the position

The Tableau Reporting Analyst at Pearson's Higher Education Data and Reporting CoE is responsible for enhancing reporting capabilities by connecting data from various technology stacks. The role involves creating intuitive reports and dashboards, improving reporting processes, and collaborating with data analysts to ensure data is structured for effective visualization. The analyst will also engage with central technology teams to implement tools that enhance data accessibility and facilitate self-service data exploration.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-value reports and dashboards in priority order.
  • Identify opportunities for data and reporting initiatives to impact OKRs.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
  • Build and validate dashboards, ensuring continual improvements through iteration.
  • Generate ad hoc reports and provide self-service dashboards to replace common requests.
  • Define standards for dataset creation, report building, and data analysis.
  • Research best practices to ensure scalable solutions and modern standards for dashboards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in stakeholder management, report, and dashboard creation.
  • Strong visualization skills and understanding of user experience in dashboards.
  • Ability to present data insights clearly to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of Tableau and Tableau Data Prep is essential.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Excel, Power BI, OBIA/OBIEE, Smartsheets, and ServiceNow.
  • Understanding of the education industry's unique challenges, such as student enrollment and compliance reporting.
