About the position
The Sr Reporting Specialist at Pearson's Higher Education Data and Reporting CoE is responsible for enhancing reporting capabilities by connecting data from various technology stacks and creating intuitive reports and dashboards for business users. This role involves collaborating with data analysts to ensure data is structured for effective visualization and engaging with technology teams to improve data accessibility and facilitate self-service data exploration.
Responsibilities
- Drive Data Related Efforts: Deliver high-value reports and dashboards in priority order and identify opportunities for data and reporting initiatives.
- Report and Dashboard Creation: Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements, build dashboards, validate prototypes, and deliver continual improvements.
- Generate ad hoc reports and provide self-service dashboards and tools to replace common ad hoc requests.
- Maintain Standards: Define the playbook for dataset creation, report building, and data analysis, and support initiatives to review legacy dashboards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in stakeholder management, report, and dashboard creation.
- Strong experience with Tableau and Tableau Data Prep.
- Ability to visualize data effectively and consider user experience in dashboard design.
- Excellent communication skills to present data insights clearly to stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of Excel, Power BI, OBIA/OBIEE, Smartsheets, and ServiceNow.
- Understanding of the education industry, including student enrollment and academic performance metrics.
