About the position

Epic Piping LLC is seeking a Tacker to join their Fabrication team in San Marcos, TX. This role is integral to the production process, focusing on welding and fabrication tasks. Responsibilities

• Comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations.
• Perform welding duties using a wire welder.
• Weld steel components as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
• Set-up and lay out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products.
• Assist fitters or fitters/welders in the fabrication or welding of multi-component parts.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torches, and other hand tools related to the job's needs.
• Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
• Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
• Cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
• Inspect equipment to maintain functional equipment and notify supervisor/lead or maintenance department if repairs are needed.
• Perform a variety of complicated tasks, as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the field or related area.
