About the position

The Tactical Operations Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) at Constellis is responsible for providing instructional services tailored to the unique needs of the Coast Guard. This role involves developing training materials, integrating learning technologies, and evaluating student performance to ensure that learners achieve the necessary skills mandated by course objectives. The ISD will work closely with USCG students, preparing them for tactical operations through effective instructional design and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert instruction to USCG students, ensuring they achieve necessary skills mandated by course curricula and objectives.
  • Evaluate students' performance by verifying their understanding of course material and competency in learned skills.
  • Collect task performance details to derive specific skills and knowledge requirements for course content.
  • Prepare design documents in accordance with USCG SOPs and task order requirements.
  • Create storyboards for content development following USCG SOPs and task order specifications.
  • Select appropriate delivery methods and media to support human performance development and competency testing.
  • Integrate current USCG learning technologies to enhance teaching strategies and learning experiences.
  • Prepare and structure tests and practical application exercises as reliable indicators of learner performance.
  • Develop initial versions of online courses, including screen presentations, interactive components, and assessments.
  • Conduct formative and summative evaluations, including pilot studies.
  • Revise course versions based on feedback from reviews and pilot testing data.
  • Develop plans for piloting training experiences under task orders.
  • Create reports of pilot studies to finalize training products.
  • Participate in reviews to ensure compliance with USCG TRASYS SOPs and other requirements.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Instructional Systems, Instructional Systems Technology, Instructional & Performance Technology, or Education (with a concentration in Educational Technology), or five years of documented experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of three years' experience working with military, law enforcement, or government tactical operations, or equivalent experience in the private sector.
  • At least two years' experience using the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process in course and training intervention development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
