About the position

The Tactical Radio Software Manager at General Dynamics Mission Systems is responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the design, development, and testing of embedded software solutions for military communications. This role requires a strong background in programming, hardware-software integration, and real-time operating systems, as well as leadership skills to manage a cross-functional team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test embedded software solutions for military communications.
• Lead and manage a team of 15-20 software engineers.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of Software-Defined Radio systems.
• Ensure strong programming practices and hardware-software integration within the team.
• Utilize debugging tools and software development environments effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in embedded software development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience with debugging tools and software development environments (e.g., JTAG, IDEs).
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C) and communication protocols.
