About the position

The Human Resources Specialist IV position at the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is responsible for supporting the planning, development, and implementation of recruitment and hiring strategies aimed at selecting high-quality staff for protective and regulatory services. This role involves developing relationships with various stakeholders, leading recruitment efforts, and ensuring compliance with hiring policies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and direct recruitment opportunities by researching new sources for talent.
  • Develop positive relationships with industry professionals and attend job fairs and community events.
  • Direct posting efforts, conduct interview screenings, and refer candidates for assessments.
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate hiring panels with supervisors.
  • Conduct reference checks and work with programs to make hiring recommendations.
  • Interface with other entities on program issues related to hiring.
  • Represent the program area at agency planning sessions and committees related to hiring.
  • Coordinate with agency supervisors to promote the agency as an employer of choice at recruitment events.
  • Fill positions within expected timeframes in response to hiring needs.
  • Interpret hiring policies to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.
  • Three years of full-time consultative, supervisory, managerial, social service, professional, human resources, or technical work experience.
  • Experience in analysis of work problems and interpretation of complex written material.
  • Ability to conduct interviews effectively and fairly.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.

  • Previous interviewing, recruitment, sourcing, and hiring experience.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a salary range of $4,523.16 - $7,253.83 a month.
