About the position
The Take Up III Operator position at Southwire Company, LLC is an entry-level role focused on operating a take-up machine in line with the extruder. The operator will be responsible for performing take-up and pay-off operations, ensuring quality checks, and maintaining safety standards while working in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate a take-up machine in line with the extruder.
- Perform take up and pay off operations as required.
- Layer wind cable to customer specified ship out length and reel.
- Utilize production orders to meet all customer requirements.
- Change out reels of cable while maintaining line function.
- Utilize tagging system to label reels.
- Make minor adjustments and repairs to machines.
- Assist line operator with running the machine.
- Perform quality checks and report any issues immediately.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Must be able to follow instructions.
