In this role, the Talent Acquisition and HR Specialist will focus on various recruitment initiatives while providing day-to-day support for a wide range of HR functions. This includes managing job postings, screening resumes, conducting preliminary interviews, and scheduling formal interviews. The Specialist will ensure adherence to branding guidelines and recruitment processes for positions in both Canada and the US. Additionally, the role involves administering benefits for all US employees, which encompasses medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and other perks, while maintaining direct communication with benefits brokers and carriers. The Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining the Open Job Report, tracking internal staffing requisitions, and monitoring recruiting metrics such as time to fill and cost per hire. Responding to employee inquiries, managing the HR Department inbox, and maintaining the applicant tracking system are also key responsibilities. The role includes providing benefit reporting to the parent company, facilitating annual benefits open enrollment, assisting with 401k administration, and ensuring the integrity of information on HRIS systems like ADP Workforce Now and Oracle. Onboarding new employees and providing backup for orientation meetings are additional duties that will be part of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment by managing job postings, screening resumes, and completing preliminary interviews.
  • Schedule formal interviews and share feedback with hiring managers and/or agencies.
  • Ensure adherence to branding guidelines and recruitment processes for both Canada and US positions.
  • Administer benefits for all US employees, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and indemnity plans.
  • Connect directly with benefits brokers or carriers as needed.
  • Maintain Open Job Report and track internal staffing requisitions and recruiting metrics.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and manage the HR Department inbox.
  • Maintain the applicant tracking system and provide benefit reporting to the parent company.
  • Facilitate annual benefits open enrollment and assist with 401k administration and audit.
  • Update HRIS with hires, transfers, and maintain the integrity of information on ADP Workforce Now and Oracle.
  • Onboard new employees and maintain the onboarding portal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; HR Certification or Master's Degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of full recruiting lifecycle experience.
  • 3+ years of HR relevant experience in a professional office environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following documented processes and best practices.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
