Daily tasks involve consulting with hiring managers to establish timelines and recruitment strategies, training screening committee members on interview procedures, and managing applicant tracking and onboarding systems. The coordinator will also be involved in advertising and sourcing candidates, conducting job analyses, and maintaining recruitment data, all while providing general HR office support. To succeed in this role, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator must possess exceptional interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational and time management abilities, critical thinking skills, and excellent communication skills. A customer service-oriented approach is essential, along with technical knowledge of recruitment laws, policies, and procedures, as well as proficiency in human resource and payroll information systems. The position may be classified as either a Human Resource Consultant 2 or a Human Resource Consultant 3, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications. The Human Resource Consultant 2 operates under general guidance, providing professional HR services that involve decision-making within established precedents, while the Human Resource Consultant 3 serves as a senior advisor, resolving complex HR issues with long-term implications. Responsibilities

  • Perform full life cycle recruiting while maintaining excellent relations with hiring managers, applicants, employment candidates, and the community at large.
  • Plan, implement, and manage recruitment strategies that support establishing and maintaining a qualified and diverse workforce for administrative, exempt, faculty, and classified employees.
  • Serve as the system administrator for the online applicant tracking and onboarding system NEOGOV/NEOED, including end user training and data integrity assurance.
  • Extend job offers or provide support to hiring managers to extend job offers.
  • Assist in the development, delivery, and maintenance of onboarding and new employee orientation materials.
  • Assist with new hire and job change processing/data entry into the HRIS known as ctcLink.
  • Provide excellent customer service and establish effective workplace relationships.
  • Lead the recruitment and onboarding work of the Recruitment & Reception Representative.
  • Manage user access to the applicant tracking and onboarding system NEOGOV/NEOED.
  • Compile job offer information and prepare e-offers, job award letters, and appointment notices.
  • Initiate new hire onboarding tasks and assist new hires with the onboarding procedure.
  • Serve as the IT Professional System (ITPS) classification coordinator and HR representative in IT Team evaluations.
  • Conduct job analyses and reallocation studies to determine appropriate classifications.
  • Determine faculty salary placement for new hires in compliance with the faculty negotiated agreement.
  • Consult with supervisors to develop job descriptions and ensure they remain up-to-date.
  • Research and participate in local, state, and national recruitment fairs.
  • Develop partnerships with colleges, universities, and community resources.
  • Measure staffing outcomes through the development and tracking of employment metrics.
  • Maintain records and documentation according to state retention guidelines.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of professional level human resources, staffing/recruitment, or closely related experience.
  • Computer proficiency and demonstrated skills with office phone systems, Microsoft Office programs, and transactional information systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Human resource experience in a higher education or government setting.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft (preferably ctcLink), NEOGOV/NEOED, and/or PPMS or HRMS.
  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification, or Society for Human Resource Management certification (SHRM-CP/SCP).
  • Prior experience preparing and disseminating internal and external communications.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
