About the position

The Talent Acquisition & HR Generalist at the University of Pittsburgh's Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) plays a crucial role in managing the full recruitment lifecycle and providing comprehensive human resources support. This dynamic position involves sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new talent while also supporting employee relations, compliance, and general HR initiatives within designated areas of the division. As a key member of the PAE HR team, the Talent Acquisition & HR Generalist collaborates with department managers to ensure effective workforce planning, employee development, and a positive work environment. In this role, the individual will manage the recruitment process, which includes sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring candidates for various roles across the division. They will work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and provide expert guidance on recruitment strategies. Additionally, the Talent Acquisition & HR Generalist will develop and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience from initial contact to onboarding. The onboarding process for new hires will also fall under their purview, where they will oversee the integration of new employees into the division, prepare and facilitate new hire orientation sessions, and assist with the setup of necessary documentation. Furthermore, the role involves serving as a resource for employee inquiries, resolving issues related to performance, conduct, and workplace dynamics, and supporting managers with conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, and terminations when necessary. Compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws is critical, and the Talent Acquisition & HR Generalist will ensure proper documentation and reporting while assisting in updating and enforcing department HR policies and procedures. They will also work with the HR Director to identify training needs and develop programs that support employee growth and development, as well as support performance management processes, including conducting performance reviews and coaching managers. Tracking and reporting key HR metrics, including recruitment data, employee turnover, and compliance updates, will be essential, along with making data-driven recommendations to improve HR processes within the division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources or related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a thorough understanding of HR best practices.
  • Proactive approach to talent acquisition and employee relations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
  • Experience in managing the recruitment lifecycle.
