About the position

The People & Talent Intern at GeoStabilization International® (GSI) will gain valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources, particularly focusing on talent acquisition. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the recruitment process, employee relations, HR administration, and the implementation of HR policies. Interns will work closely with the HR team to support the recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting initial screenings, and participating in candidate interviews. Additionally, the role involves supporting new employee onboarding and orientation, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires into the company. In terms of employee relations, the intern will assist in addressing employee inquiries and concerns, providing documentation and communication support. The role also includes maintaining HR records, organizing HR-related documents, and ensuring compliance with HR regulations. Interns will support benefits administration by assisting employees with benefit-related questions and providing information about available benefits. Furthermore, the intern will participate in the coordination of training and development initiatives, helping to organize training sessions and track employee training records. The internship will also involve contributing to employee engagement initiatives, such as surveys, events, and recognition programs, as well as assisting the HR team in special projects and initiatives, which may include HR research, process improvement, or HR analytics. Throughout the internship, maintaining confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive HR information is paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting initial screenings, and participating in candidate interviews.

  • Support benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Assist employees with benefit-related questions and provide information about available benefits.
  • Participate in the coordination of training and development initiatives for employees.
  • Assist in organizing training sessions and tracking employee training records.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, events, and recognition programs.
  • Assist the HR team in special projects and initiatives, which may include HR research, process improvement, or HR analytics.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive HR information.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation of Winter 2025 or Summer 2026.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of HR principles and practices.
  • Team player with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
