About the position

Talent Acquisition Manager - Early Career and Experienced Hires is a member of the Talent Acquisition team in the Office of Human Resources and reports to the Director of Talent Acquisition. The Talent Acquisition Manager - Early Career and Experienced Hires is accountable for the management of staff who support recruiting and sourcing activities to hire non-exempt new grad, early career, and temporary roles for various business units. The Talent Acquisition Manager - Early Career and Experienced Hires will develop policies and procedures, lead operational projects, and build key internal and external relationships critical to attracting and recruiting talent for Northwestern. This position requires occasional travel between Chicago and Evanston campuses. Occasional off-site travel to conferences and recruitment events is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches team members on consulting with clients, conducting effective intake sessions, developing creative and cost-effective recruiting strategies, and managing full lifecycle recruiting activities.
  • Conducts full-life cycle recruiting activities for executive searches and/or high-touch clients, as needed.
  • Develops and analyzes recruitment projections and aligns resources accordingly.
  • Ensures development of strong temp pools and candidate pipelines for high volume positions.
  • Evaluate overall client and candidate satisfaction and develop strategies to address opportunities.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with key client contacts to ensure an understanding of the clients' business needs and culture of the department and/or business units.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, process maps and manuals that support talent acquisition programs, day-to-day operations, and compliance.
  • Develop new and maintain existing metrics to assess talent acquisition key performance indicators.
  • In partnership with the Director of Talent Acquisition, develops recruitment marketing strategies and materials (e.g. employer brand messaging, social media, media contracts).
  • Ensure processes support compliance to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action regulations and other applicable US and state laws.
  • Responsible for processing bi-weekly Temporary Staffing Center fee charges.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in human resources, marketing or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • 6 years of experience in human resources or related, with at least 4 years' experience in a corporate recruiting role.
  • 2 years' experience leading or managing teams.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects.
  • Experience with recruiting technology implementation and enhancement projects.
  • Experience managing complex relationships in a consensus-driven environment.
  • Knowledgeable of Federal and State Employment Law.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • PeopleSoft experience.
  • Experience with MS Project and MS Visio.
