About the position

The Talent Acquisition Manager at San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle recruitment process, onboarding, employment branding, and internal talent movement for all employee levels. This role involves strategic workforce planning aligned with the company's initiatives, managing the Talent Acquisition team, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. The position emphasizes building partnerships to enhance talent acquisition and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Talent Acquisition strategies for full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, employment branding, and internal talent movement.
  • Build collaborative partnerships with clients, peers, and external stakeholders to enhance the talent acquisition function.
  • Establish short-term and long-term workforce planning and program initiatives consistent with SDG&E's strategic priorities.
  • Lead the implementation of college recruitment programs and participate in external events.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders to deepen talent pipelines and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, direction, coaching, training, and motivation to the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to hiring processes.
  • Manage budget, vendor contracts, and approve POs/invoices for Talent Acquisition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business, public relations or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years progressive human resources experience in a large organization including knowledge of federal and state labor law.
  • 3 years experience with talent acquisition.
  • 3 years prior supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of current California and Federal labor law.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office, HRIS systems and ATS.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation.
  • Ability to lead teams and influence outcomes.
  • Skilled negotiator who can liaise between hiring manager and candidate.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 years Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program (OFCCP) experience.
  • Master's Degree in human resources or business administration.
  • Professional Human Resources certification.
