About the position

We are expanding our national courier company and looking for our newest team member! This person would play a crucial role as our recruiting specialist. They would be responsible for recruiting the brightest minds and leaders in our industry as we continue to grow in this ever-changing world of health care distribution. As a Talent Acquisition Manager, you would be responsible for familiarizing yourself with the day-to-day operations of a world-class final mile health care distribution organization. In order to market your open position, you must first know the process. The vast majority of the individuals you will be hiring will be couriers filling independent contractors routes, therefore it would be crucial to understand the difference between a 1099 contractor and a W2 employee. Once onboarding these individuals, you would also be responsible to ensure they maintain compliance with our standards and keep all necessary documents updated through Open Force. As a Talent Acquisition Manager, your role will include, but not be limited to: recruiting for open positions within our network, which includes both W2 and 1099 couriers. You will become a subject matter expert with our independent contractor database, Open Force. You will be responsible for ensuring all independent contractors (ICs) which are brought on successfully complete all the necessary onboarding steps through Open Force before they begin driving. This includes posting ads on internal and external recruiting sites, conducting initial pre-screen interviews with potential candidates, and in some cases, making the final decision to hire them based on the availability of the account manager. You will also conduct in-person interviews as needed and may ride with couriers when applicable to gain a holistic understanding of the open position. Additionally, you will ensure all drivers maintain compliance with training and certification requirements, make several phone calls per day, and perform other administrative duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting for open positions within our network, including both W2 and 1099 couriers.
  • Becoming a subject matter expert with our independent contractor database, Open Force.
  • Ensuring all ICs successfully complete all necessary onboarding steps through Open Force before they begin driving.
  • Posting ads on internal and external recruiting sites.
  • Conducting initial pre-screen interviews with potential candidates.
  • Making final hiring decisions based on the availability of the account manager.
  • Conducting in-person interviews as needed.
  • Riding with couriers when applicable to gain a holistic understanding of the open position.
  • Ensuring all drivers maintain compliance with training and certification requirements.
  • Making several phone calls per day.
  • Performing other administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Must reside in the Louisville area.
  • 3-5 years' experience in the recruiting or talent acquisition field.
  • Experience using external job sites such as Indeed, CareerBuilder, etc.
  • Positive, outgoing, and high energy personality.
  • Good attention to detail and follow up.
  • Enjoys meeting new people and building relationships.
  • Must be available to answer calls during off shift hours.
  • Clear criminal background and ability to pass drug screen.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Previous experience training and onboarding new employees.
  • Experience leading and working with non-direct reports such as independent contractors, 3PLs, Contractor workers.

  • 5-8 years' experience in the recruiting and talent acquisition field.
