About the position

The Talent Acquisition Officer at Mid Penn Bank is responsible for overseeing the full life-cycle recruiting process, which includes sourcing, screening, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding candidates for various positions within the organization. This role emphasizes managing the candidate experience and ensuring that the company is staffed with high-quality employees who contribute to its success. The position also involves conducting new hire orientation sessions and supporting various human resource functions.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits and hires non-exempt and exempt level positions in a timely manner.
  • Serves as a consultant and business partner for sourcing and selecting talent using online resources and social media.
  • Works closely with hiring managers to understand current and future hiring needs.
  • Structures interviews to gain more information from candidates and ensures a positive candidate experience.
  • Develops strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates and manages recruitment costs.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing, analyzing responses, and verifying references.
  • Coordinates outreach activities and networking strategies to engage top talent.
  • Schedules candidate and management interviews.
  • Maintains applicant workflow and interview data in the HR Information System.
  • Performs reference and background checks for potential employees.
  • Communicates frequently with applicants during the hiring process.
  • Prepares and sends offer packages and new employee orientation information.
  • Facilitates on-site new hire orientation classes.
  • Facilitates Talent Selection training classes for supervisors.
  • Plans and represents the company at job fairs and related events.
  • Manages hiring and recruitment procedures to ensure compliance and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or business or equivalent related experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' Human Resources and/or recruiting experience required.
  • Recognized Human Resources Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP or SPHR, SHRM SCP) preferred.
  • Prior financial services experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience using ADP WorkforceNow strongly preferred.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work well under pressure.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
