The Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Specialist at Malcolm X College plays a crucial role in implementing strategic recruiting and onboarding processes for both faculty and non-faculty positions. This position is integral to managing the recruitment and onboarding life cycle across one or more campus locations. The Specialist will collaborate closely with HR staff, campus leaders, and hiring managers to execute effective recruitment and candidate sourcing strategies, ensuring a robust pipeline of candidates is maintained. The role requires a strong commitment to multicultural awareness, contributing to the cultivation of an inclusive, diverse, and respectful college community. In this position, the Specialist will partner with hiring managers to understand their talent needs and expectations, creating tailored recruitment strategies to fill vacant positions, including those that are critical or hard-to-fill. The Specialist will also coordinate and lead onboarding planning and training for new employees, which includes organizing orientations and HR-related workshops. Additionally, the Specialist will consult with hiring managers to ensure that onboarding processes for new hires and promotions are executed in a timely and effective manner. The Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Specialist will conduct intake sessions with hiring managers to review job roles, interview questions, and panel makeup, ensuring that all necessary details are covered for successful recruitment. They will also be responsible for developing accurate job postings and critical success factors for positions, screening and interviewing candidates, and providing guidance to hiring managers throughout the selection process. Utilizing the Taleo applicant tracking and onboarding system, the Specialist will manage the requisition and hiring process while maintaining communication with candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment cycle. This role may also involve advising management on recruitment procedures and filling in for other HR roles as needed.
