About the position

The Talent Acquisition Operations Specialist at Appalachian State University plays a crucial role in supporting the university's strategic priority to recruit, retain, and support talented faculty and staff. This position provides operational support for various HR functions, ensuring that position vacancies are managed effectively and that applicants have a positive experience throughout the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze job postings to ensure all required information is included.
  • Assist with requisition management and applicant tracking processes from posting to new employee activation.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of HR processes and guidelines.
  • Initiate background checks, education verifications, and reference checks.
  • Conduct screening of applicants for various job postings.
  • Post positions on external job sites to attract a wider range of candidates.
  • Support HR colleagues and campus partners by completing actions in a timely manner.
  • Stay updated on current HR procedures to ensure prompt case completion.
  • Escalate complex issues and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in team projects aimed at enhancing departmental procedures and documentation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in HR processes.
  • Ensure timely closure of filled job postings and initiate requests for search materials.
  • Organize work and proactively manage assigned cases to avoid delays.
  • Conduct regular meetings with HR colleagues to stay updated on developments.
  • Work closely with HR partners to enhance system workflows and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise using enterprise-level case management or applicant tracking software, preferably PeopleAdmin.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
