About The Position

The Recruitment Specialist at American Water is responsible for leading recruitment efforts for internships, co-ops, and early talent across the organization. This role focuses on sourcing diverse talent, developing creative recruitment strategies, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to build brand awareness and promote opportunities for potential candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source and engage diverse talent pools through university partnerships, career fairs, online job boards, and social media platforms.
  • Develop and implement creative recruitment strategies to attract high-potential interns and co-op students in alignment with business needs.
  • Represent the company at campus recruitment events, career fairs, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and promote internship, co-op, and early talent opportunities.
  • Track and report on key recruitment metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and make improvements as necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and innovations in internship and co-op recruitment to ensure the company remains competitive in attracting top talent.
  • Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with leadership, HR Business Partners, and key cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Perform all full cycle recruiting responsibilities: pre-screens, interviews, selects, recommends candidate pool to present to hiring manager, and supports the offer process.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand needs of the role and identify candidate profiles to fit those needs.
  • Act as a liaison between the hiring manager and candidate.
  • Understand the organization's long-term needs and assist with building pipelines to meet those needs.
  • Help to organize and participate in job fairs, campus recruiting events, and other recruitment activities.
  • Comply with all labor laws and government and industry regulations.
  • Ensure that the talent acquisition process is carried out consistently with the highest quality, integrity, and professionalism.
