About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Brightpoint Community College is responsible for overseeing the recruitment process for various employee categories, including classified, administrative faculty, faculty, wage, and student positions. This role involves ensuring compliance with EEO/AA, VCCS, and DHRM requirements throughout the hiring process, from advertisement to selection. The specialist will work closely with college administrators to facilitate effective hiring practices and maintain communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the college's employment process for various employee categories.
• Develop job advertisements in compliance with VCCS and DHRM policies.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with college managers and supervisors.
• Prepare applicant pools and submit them to committees within established timeframes.
• Ensure recruitment processes are completed within the timeframes established by DHRM and VCCS.
• Train supervisors on the interview process as needed.
• Serve as the liaison for the V3 Veteran Program.
• Attend job fairs and conduct training sessions on HR topics related to recruitment and selection.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to develop and interpret policies and procedures.
• Ability to independently provide guidance and direction to college staff regarding HR work areas.
• Working knowledge of federal and state laws related to human resources issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
