About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Brightpoint Community College is responsible for overseeing the recruitment process for various employee categories, including classified, administrative faculty, faculty, wage, and student positions. This role involves ensuring compliance with EEO/AA, VCCS, and DHRM requirements throughout the hiring process, while also providing guidance to college administrators. The specialist will develop job advertisements, maintain effective communication with college managers, prepare applicant pools, and resolve recruitment issues promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the college's employment process for classified, administrative faculty, faculty, wage, and student positions.
  • Develop advertisements in accordance with VCCS and DHRM policy.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with college managers and supervisors.
  • Prepare applicant pools and submit to committees within established timeframes.
  • Maintain communication with college managers to facilitate the screening process.
  • Prepare salary offers with accurate comparative salary data.
  • Ensure recruitment processes are completed within established timeframes.
  • Promptly notify supervisors of recruitment problems or concerns.
  • Interpret and provide guidance related to EEO guidelines and fair employment practices.
  • Train supervisors on the interview process as needed.
  • Serve as the liaison for the V3 Veteran Program.
  • Attend training to maintain certification and submit quarterly reports for the Veteran Office.
  • Assist in HR activities such as Employee Appreciation Day and Founders Day.
  • Attend job fairs and conduct training sessions on HR topics related to recruitment and selection.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and interpret policies and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze data and present conclusions effectively.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws related to human resources issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to independently provide guidance and direction to all levels of college staff.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
