About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at LiveOnNY plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's hiring process, from full-cycle recruiting to onboarding new employees. This position is integral to maintaining personnel records and assisting with various HR management tasks, all while fostering the mission of organ and tissue donation. The role requires effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization, making it essential for candidates to have a passion for human resources.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Participates in new hire orientation and employee onboarding.
  • Conducts reference checks, background checks, and academic and licensure verifications.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, including VOE and Unemployment inquiries.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of human resource policies.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Tracks HR metrics.
  • Maintains employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
  • Performs additional administrative office duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in human resources preferred.
  • Proven experience and understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws.
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems will be a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
