About the position

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Ascentria Care Alliance, you will play a crucial role in our mission to strengthen communities by empowering individuals to overcome life's challenges. This hybrid position is designed for someone who is passionate about recruitment and dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce. You will be responsible for full-cycle recruitment activities, which include sourcing, prescreening, interviewing, and referencing candidates for various programs within our organization. Your efforts will directly impact the quality of care we provide to our clients, as you will be placing qualified staff into roles that allow them to thrive and make a difference in the lives of those we serve. In this role, you will proactively create applicant pools by utilizing various job boards, social media platforms, and professional organizations. You will conduct Boolean sourcing to attract passive candidates and represent Ascentria at college and community events. Your ability to build strong relationships with hiring managers will be essential as you collaborate with them to develop effective recruitment strategies tailored to their specific needs. You will also be responsible for maintaining clear communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring they have a positive experience from application to placement. Your responsibilities will include screening applications, conducting telephone pre-screens, assisting with interview scheduling, and providing consultation to hiring managers regarding candidate selection. You will also handle the communication of job offers and manage the background check process to ensure compliance with state regulations. This position requires a commitment to inclusive hiring practices and the ability to support diversity in workforce recruitment and retention. As a member of our growing Talent Acquisition team, you will contribute to building a strong, mission-driven staff that reflects the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively create applicant pools by posting jobs through various job boards, social media platforms, professional organizations, career fairs, and open houses as appropriate to the position.
  • Conduct Boolean sourcing to attract passive and well-qualified candidates.
  • Post newly available positions on ATS and conduct strategy meetings with managers to develop appropriate recruitment strategies.
  • Represent Ascentria at college, community, and other events as assigned.
  • Provide regular written updates related to recruitment activities and efforts to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Screen all applications/resumes received for open positions and conduct telephone pre-screening of appropriate candidates.
  • Assist hiring managers with scheduling follow-up interviews with candidates as needed.
  • Provide an exceptional candidate experience by maintaining clear and consistent communication with candidates.
  • Provide consultation to hiring managers related to interview processes and decisions related to candidates.
  • Place candidates within the applicable pay scale based on experience, education, and other applicable factors.
  • Communicate provisional job offers and provide all necessary documentation to support the offer.
  • Review reference reports and/or complete timely and formal written references consistent with Ascentria's referencing practices.
  • Conduct and/or review background checks, criminal background checks, driving record checks, and professional license checks as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director to gather necessary information to decide whether to hire based on background information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of recruitment experience required.
  • Experience working in multi-service nonprofits strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success utilizing creative sourcing strategies including social media and professional networking required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive hiring practices and the ability to support diversity in workforce recruitment and retention.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in multi-service nonprofits strongly preferred.
