About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist I at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is responsible for sourcing, recruiting, screening, and interviewing candidates for various job levels within the organization. This role is crucial in building and maintaining a quality talent pipeline to support the company's mission of delivering top-tier products to the U.S. military and allied nations. The specialist will work closely with hiring managers and may also engage with recruitment agencies and participate in career fairs to attract qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically and proactively source passive and active candidates to build and maintain a quality talent pipeline.
  • Understand external labor market conditions.
  • Leverage effective, economical, and appropriate sources/channels and methods for recruitment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential candidates, recruitment agencies, and associations.
  • Plan and coordinate participation in career fairs to generate a source of qualified potential candidates.
  • Review resumes and contact candidates to ascertain fit and interest, referring to hiring managers as appropriate.
  • Extend offers and negotiate compensation with candidates.
  • Participate in onboarding and facilitate new employee orientation as needed.
  • Provide support in planning and strategizing future workforce needs.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 0-3 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of employment law and full-cycle recruiting processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in candidate screening and talent assessment.
