About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a crucial role in the recruitment process, focusing on full life cycle recruiting in key markets such as Oakland, CA, and Portland, OR. This hands-on position requires the specialist to engage in various activities, including employee engagement and assisting with training initiatives. The role is pivotal in supporting recruiting activities for new client locations, ensuring that the organization attracts and retains top talent. The specialist will be responsible for building a robust applicant pipeline by actively researching and contacting community services, local colleges, and networking within the markets to identify potential candidates. In this role, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will determine the hiring needs of the area by consulting with field management and workforce scheduling to establish staffing requirements. Utilizing technology and social media networking tools, along with traditional sourcing techniques, the specialist will source the best candidates available. Staying informed about talent acquisition trends and changes is essential, as the specialist will rely heavily on data, metrics, and industry best practices to coordinate recruitment efforts effectively. The specialist will ensure prompt and effective communication with candidates and workforce scheduling throughout the full cycle recruiting process. This includes participating in employment engagement from the applicant stage through to employee onboarding, ensuring that appropriate communications, training, and onboarding occur before employees begin their schedules. Regular interactions with employees will also be necessary to assess engagement levels and explore potential referral opportunities. The use of an applicant tracking system is critical to keep all data updated throughout the interview and hiring process, and collaboration with human resources will ensure that onboarding, compliance, and employee records are accurate at the time of hire. The role may also involve participation in other duties as assigned, making it a dynamic and multifaceted position.

Responsibilities

  • Build applicant pipeline by researching and contacting community services, local colleges, and networking within markets.
  • Determine the hiring needs of the area by establishing staffing requirements through consultation with field management and workforce scheduling.
  • Utilize technology and social media networking tools as well as traditional sourcing techniques to source the best candidates.
  • Understand and be knowledgeable of talent acquisition trends and changes through research, relying heavily on data, metrics, and industry best practices in coordinating recruitment efforts.
  • Ensure delivery of prompt and effective communications with candidates & workforce scheduling throughout the full cycle recruiting process.
  • Participate in full cycle employment engagement from applicant through employee by ensuring appropriate communications, training and onboarding occur prior to working a schedule.
  • Engage in regular interactions with employees to assess engagement and possible referral opportunities.
  • Utilize applicant tracking system to ensure all data is updated throughout the interview and hiring process.
  • Collaborate effectively with human resources to ensure onboarding, compliance, and employee records are accurate at the time of hire.
  • Participate in other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience as an Hourly Recruiter or Retail Store Manager.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Must be trustworthy, have a high sense of integrity, be customer-centric, results-driven, and be agile and open to change.
  • Ability to work independently in an office environment and produce sustainable results with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of applicant tracking and HRIS systems (Kronos/UKG Ready will be especially helpful) and PC skills in MS Office applications.
  • A proven career history, with no more than three jobs in the last six years.
  • Must be available to travel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug and thorough background check.
