About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Werfen is responsible for collaborating with hiring managers to source, assess, and select both permanent and temporary talent for the organization. This role emphasizes creative sourcing strategies, maintaining effective recruitment processes, and ensuring that hiring metrics are met. The specialist will also lead college recruitment initiatives and act as a subject matter expert for the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the recruitment process from opening a requisition through to hire, maintaining effective processes within the HR group.
  • Drive excellence in hiring by interviewing candidates to assess their capabilities and background.
  • Conduct candidate debrief meetings to solicit interview feedback and make recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Partner with hiring managers and HRBPs to develop competitive job offers that meet internal equity levels.
  • Lead college recruitment initiatives, establishing partnerships with key universities and colleges, attending on-campus events, and organizing onsite visits.
  • Create a strong, positive image of Werfen in the marketplace by building and managing relationships with candidates, external contacts, and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the business to effectively market the organization and its opportunities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the ATS, training end users and managers as needed.
  • Implement improvements to the recruitment process and tools proactively.
  • Serve as a liaison with area employment agencies and selected recruitment vendors.
  • Provide candidate feedback on the interviews and selection process.
  • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications.
  • Maintain knowledge of staffing laws and regulations, ensuring regulatory compliance and updating the staffing process as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years previous relevant experience in corporate recruiting, preferably in a technical/biotech/medical device environment.
  • Experience in full cycle corporate recruiting.
  • Ability to source candidates from job boards, niche sites, and social networking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Prior experience with university relations and recruitment is a plus.
  • Proven track record of hiring top talent while meeting time and cost per hire goals.
  • Knowledge of state/federal laws and guidelines, as well as current immigration laws and processes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to interact with all organizational levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technical recruiting within the biotech or medical device sectors.
  • Prior experience in university relations and recruitment.
