About the position

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a passionate and experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our dynamic Staffing team. This role is pivotal in leading strategic talent initiatives that align with our mission of national security and technology innovation. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will leverage your expertise to deliver creative talent strategy solutions, ensuring that we attract and secure elite talent for Sandia National Labs. You will work closely with various customer organizations, providing vital direction and support by crafting and implementing innovative solutions to address talent challenges. Your role will involve defining and executing talent strategies in collaboration with other HR team members, utilizing robust data and metrics to enhance service delivery and improve customer experiences. In this position, you will take a consultative approach to partner with customers, identifying their talent needs and developing comprehensive workforce plans. You will collaborate with Recruiters and HR Business Partners to create effective recruiting strategies that align with organizational goals. Your responsibilities will include screening applications, performing candidate engagement, and utilizing Applicant Tracking software to prioritize top talent. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with hiring policies and presenting HR staffing data and metrics to leadership teams. Responsibilities

  • Take a consultative approach in partnership with customers to identify talent needs and develop workforce plans.
  • Partner with Recruiters and HR Business Partners to develop recruiting strategies that will acquire or align talent effectively.
  • Team with cross-functional partners to assess needs and advise on strategic objectives, including engagement in special projects as needed.
  • Develop Workforce Planning solutions, data analytics, and programs to meet current talent demands and support future workforce needs.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers for job intake and the development of job requisitions.
  • Screen applications to identify those that meet job qualification requirements.
  • Perform candidate engagement and pre-screening to ensure position alignment.
  • Effectively utilize Applicant Tracking software to down select candidates and prioritize top talent.
  • Identify critical and/or hard-to-fill job requisitions and partner with the Recruiting team to ensure strategic recruiting focus is applied.
  • Ensure hiring policies, processes, and practices follow applicable affirmative action and equal opportunity laws and regulations.
  • Present HR staffing data and metrics to leadership teams.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a relevant field, plus 5 years related experience in Talent Acquisition; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Experience in reviewing resumes and the determination of qualifications of candidate fit for specific job requirements.
  • The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working at a National Laboratory or Government Organization in a Staffing role.
  • PeopleSoft/HCM Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) experience.
  • Experience with high volume hiring and working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Knowledge of talent acquisition federal compliance programs, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Experience using metrics and data packages to develop talent strategies and staffing plans addressing talent challenges.
  • A SHRM/HRCI Certification.
  • The ability to lead teams and successfully implement assigned projects within scheduled scope and costs.
  • The ability to influence and provide consultation to mission partners on best practices associated with optimizing the candidate experience and efficiently and effectively acquiring talent.
  • Possess a continuous improvement mindset; Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize policies and processes to current practices.
