About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Democracy International (DI) plays a crucial role in sourcing, identifying, screening, and hiring candidates for various roles within the organization. This position is integral to the Human Resources team and focuses on ensuring that staffing needs are met with a long-term strategy, while also promoting diversity and inclusion in the hiring process. The specialist will lead the end-to-end hiring processes, maintain relationships with hiring managers, and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the recruiting process for a range of DI roles, including drafting and publishing job listings, reviewing CVs, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and checking references.
  • Manage candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (currently DI uses Paycor).
  • Develop and implement comprehensive candidate hiring procedures to ensure a great candidate experience.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and candidate selection criteria.
  • Source applicants through online channels, such as LinkedIn, Devex, and other professional networks.
  • Maintain and expand professional networks, facilitating candidate pipelining across DI practice areas.
  • Utilize both conventional and unconventional resources to discover and engage candidates possessing specific skill sets.
  • Collaborate with the HR team and management to incorporate DEI best practices into the talent acquisition process.
  • Develop and implement a structured recruitment strategy tailored for Veterans and other underrepresented minority groups.
  • Create job listings and interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position.
  • Plan and attend job fairs and recruitment activities to develop a solid candidate pipeline.
  • Maintain records of all recruitment materials, including interview notes and accompanying paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with OFCCP laws and regulations.
  • Oversee internship programs and career fair outreach efforts, maintaining relationships with college career networks.
  • Maintain and organize recruitment trackers and files within shared sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, international relations, psychology, sociology, or other related fields; Master's preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in talent acquisition or similar roles.
  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods.
  • Demonstrated experience using applicant tracking systems.
  • Proficiency with CV databases, social media, and professional networks.
  • Experience in using LinkedIn talent solutions to proactively source candidates.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and collaboratively in a multi-cultural environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in the international development sector preferred.
  • Fluency in other languages a plus.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $61,000 to $73,000 based on experience.
  • Hybrid work environment with regular office attendance expected.
