Diagnostic Laboratory Services, Inc. (DLS) is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist for Workforce Planning to join our team in 'Aiea, HI. As Hawaii's largest locally owned and operated medical testing laboratory, DLS plays a crucial role in the healthcare community, utilizing state-of-the-art testing and value-based informatics to enhance patient care and outcomes. This full-time position requires a dedicated individual who can manage all aspects of talent acquisition while promoting our employment brand. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, screening, assessing, and recommending qualified talent for various positions within the organization. This role is pivotal in planning, executing, and measuring recruitment strategies that align with the company's goals. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will perform full life-cycle recruitment functions, which include developing and implementing talent acquisition plans tailored to specific positions. The role demands efficiency and cost-effectiveness in recruitment efforts, utilizing diverse media sources such as job fairs, social media, and professional networks. The specialist will also maintain ongoing talent pipelines for high-demand positions and evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment activities, making necessary adjustments to strategies. Additionally, the specialist will represent DLS at job fairs and other recruitment events, ensuring a strong presence in the community. In this position, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will coordinate communication regarding job vacancies, maintain job postings, and verify job descriptions. The role also involves managing the onboarding process for new hires, including coordinating post-offer activities such as physicals and drug tests, and ensuring thorough background checks are conducted. The specialist will maintain accurate departmental files and data in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), generating reports for management to aid in decision-making. This position requires a proactive approach to support DLS management in their recruitment and staffing needs, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full life-cycle talent acquisition and recruitment functions for the organization.
  • Develop and implement talent acquisition plans based on specific positions.
  • Ensure the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of recruitment plans using various media sources.
  • Develop and sustain ongoing pipelines for talent for high-demand positions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment activities and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Represent the company at job fairs and other Talent Acquisition activities.
  • Coordinate communication of job vacancies internally and externally.
  • Update and maintain job postings on internal and external websites.
  • Verify the accuracy of current job descriptions for open positions.
  • Coordinate utilization of temporary agency services as needed.
  • Maintain documentation as required by law and departmental policy.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Coordinate post-offer activities including physicals and drug tests.
  • Arrange travel, lodging, and reimbursement for relocation expenses for selected applicants.
  • Conduct telephone reference checks on selected applicants and alert hiring managers of potential issues.
  • Ensure thorough background checks are performed via third-party vendors.
  • Develop training material for new employee orientation.
  • Maintain accurate departmental files and information systems.
  • Accurately enter and maintain data in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Track event metrics and report HRIS issues and problems.
  • Support DLS management in their recruitment and staffing efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least two years of experience in Human Resources or a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in employment law and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent customer service skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to set priorities, assess problems, and make independent decisions with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management from a recognized college or university.
  • Three years of experience in Human Resources, with one year in recruitment.
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and/or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification.
