About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Gordon Food Service plays a crucial role in recruiting top-quality candidates for various positions within the organization. This position involves managing the entire recruitment process, which includes screening, interviewing, skills assessment, and candidate evaluation. The specialist will build strong relationships with hiring managers to effectively influence, guide, and drive the recruitment process. This role requires coordination with hiring managers throughout the organization to ensure a smooth and efficient hiring process. Key responsibilities include posting job requisitions, screening candidates, setting up interviews, debriefing with interview teams, advising on offer parameters, and creating offers for selected candidates. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will also maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS) in accordance with departmental procedures and government compliance requirements. This position is essential in ensuring that the recruitment process is not only effective but also compliant with all necessary regulations. In addition to managing the recruitment process, the specialist will be responsible for preparing offer letters and may present offers to candidates. They will conduct the new hire administration process, which includes receiving employee numbers and preparing new hire paperwork. The specialist will utilize process metrics and KPIs, such as Time to Fill, Quality of Hire, Manager Feedback, and Candidate Feedback, to manage their workload and report progress. Maintaining recruitment metrics, including position control lists, time-to-fill statistics, and turnover reporting, is also a critical aspect of this role. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will confirm specific needs and requirements with hiring managers, analyze reports, and use relevant information to inform and influence leaders. They will counsel hiring managers on offer parameters and educate internal customers on the recruiting and selection process through ongoing counsel and periodic training sessions. Additionally, the specialist will work with a Talent Sourcer on hard-to-fill positions and provide input to social media campaigns as needed. This position also involves creating interview guides and evaluation tools for the hiring team, evaluating resumes and applicants, and conducting applicant screening interviews to gather essential information about candidates. The specialist will coordinate and schedule interviews and debrief with interview teams to ensure a thorough evaluation of candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the recruitment process for a functional area, working with hiring managers on new and replacement requisitions.
  • Maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS) to ensure compliance with company policies and government requirements.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years previous staffing experience with recruiting, interviewing, and selecting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related degree preferred.
  • High school diploma required.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
