About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will lead recruitment efforts for University Housing and Dining (UHD) at UT Austin, serving as a primary liaison for applicants, the community, and hiring managers. This role involves utilizing innovative strategies to source candidates for various positions, ensuring a robust pipeline of talent while providing a high-quality candidate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and screen applications for various UHD positions in the HRIS system.
  • Attend intake calls, create a matrix, and recommend candidates for phone screens and interviews.
  • Schedule interviews and review/approve interview scores and feedback.
  • Coordinate pre-offer steps, including conducting reference checks and verifying employment.
  • Review and draft offer letters and oversee the pre-onboarding process for benefit-eligible hires.
  • Advise managers and supervisors on HR processes and employment-related matters.
  • Coordinate with other campus departments and create assignments for new hires via the HRIS system.
  • Monitor requisitions and assist in increasing applicant flow through various sourcing methods.
  • Assist with marketing and advertisement of open positions and identify top talent using job boards.
  • Assist applicants and new hires with completing and submitting required paperwork.
  • Lead recruitment efforts to enhance brand awareness in the community.
  • Attend career fairs and hiring events, and develop regular recruiting activity reports.
  • Handle sensitive documents appropriately and maintain proper documentation according to UT policies.
  • Provide top-quality service to internal and external customers and ensure positive representation of UHD.
  • Support HR teammates and leadership, and act as TA Point Person when needed.
  • Create and implement efficiencies to improve customer service and provide administrative support functions for the HR office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in Human Resources Administration or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Three or more years of experience in human resources administration.
  • Experience utilizing various job boards to source and recruit candidates.
  • Experience recruiting a high volume of applicants.
  • Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills.
