Fisher Associates, P.E., L.S., L.A., D.P.C. is a consulting engineering and professional services firm serving the Transportation, Land Development and Energy market sectors. Our comprehensive services include landscape architecture, planning, engineering, environmental, survey, GIS and construction representation. We are headquartered in Rochester NY, with eight offices throughout NY, PA and TX. The primary function of this role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Assist with development and execution of comprehensive strategic talent acquisition plans. Build and maintain relationships with candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing timely updates and feedback ensuring all candidates have an exceptional experience. Act as a brand ambassador for the company, promoting our culture, values, and career opportunities to prospective candidates. Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleges, universities, and other recruiting sources to attract top talent. Participate in job fairs, industry events, and other recruitment activities to build candidate pipelines. Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies for active and passive candidates to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates for various positions within the organization. Utilize and recommend a variety of recruiting tools and techniques, including job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals, to identify and engage the highest caliber potential candidates. Build and maintain a pipeline and database of qualified candidates for current and future hiring needs. Coordinate with external recruitment agencies and vendors. Partner with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and develop recruitment plans to fill open positions. Participate in weekly recruiting meetings to provide status updates and prioritize open positions. Provide guidance and support to hiring managers on best practices for interviewing, selection, and candidate assessment. Develop engaging job ads and write job descriptions that accurately reflect each position's requirements. Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews as needed to assess candidate qualifications and fit for specific roles. Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and team members, ensuring a smooth and efficient recruitment process. Coordinate travel arrangements for candidates as needed. Design and implement recruitment and selection processes and policies. Track and report on recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill, sourcing effectiveness, acceptance rate and candidate satisfaction. Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Build knowledge of market competitor salaries and benefit packages. Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and other recruitment databases. Assist with other HR initiatives and projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR or SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, Recruiter, or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully sourcing and hiring candidates across various functions and levels.
  • Experience analyzing recruiting metrics to drive decision-making is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or other recruitment software (Paylocity preferred).
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter software.
  • Experience with utilizing AI to enhance and streamline the recruiting process is a plus.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Solid understanding of recruitment processes, including screening, and interviewing techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with utilizing AI to enhance and streamline the recruiting process is a plus.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
