Building and maintaining effective relationships with social and professional networks is essential to source qualified candidates effectively. In addition to sourcing candidates, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will act as a liaison with area educational institutions, employment agencies, and advertising agencies to enhance recruitment efforts. The role requires a deep understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws and regulations affecting recruitment, as well as staying updated on talent acquisition trends, best practices, and technologies. The specialist will evaluate organizational development plans to determine position requirements and work closely with management to develop job descriptions and candidate profiles. The responsibilities also include reviewing resumes and qualifications to assess candidate suitability, facilitating pre-employment testing, conducting background checks, and managing all communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process. The specialist will inform candidates about the job, the company, and the benefits offered, build offers of employment in accordance with company procedures, and contact applicants who are not selected. Additionally, the role involves generating and analyzing reports related to staffing levels, turnover, recruitment, and applicant tracking, utilizing applicant tracking software effectively. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will also support the daily operations of the Human Resources department, including benefit administration, employee engagement programs, wellness initiatives, and policy administration and development. This position may require occasional long hours and travel, and it is primarily conducted in an office environment owned or leased by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute effective talent acquisition plans and strategies.
  • Source applicants through various methods including advertising, search firms, job sites, career fairs, and online platforms.
  • Maintain effective relationships with social and professional networks to source qualified candidates.
  • Act as a liaison with area education institutions, employment agencies, and advertising agencies.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting recruitment.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of talent acquisition trends, best practices, and technologies.
  • Determine position requirements by evaluating organizational development plans.
  • Assess positions and work with management to develop job descriptions and job candidate profiles.
  • Maintain job descriptions for each position within the company and create new ones as needed.
  • Review and clarify job specifications, competencies and skills required.
  • Work with management to identify recruiting needs.
  • Review resumes and qualifications to determine suitability of candidates.
  • Pre-screen job candidates.
  • Facilitate pre-employment testing.
  • Conduct background checks.
  • Manage all communication with candidates.
  • Inform candidates fully about the job, company, and benefits.
  • Build offers of employment within company procedures.
  • Contact applicants not selected.
  • Develop, prepare, generate, and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to staffing levels, turnover, recruitment, and applicant tracking.
  • Effectively utilize the applicant tracking software to obtain, store, and analyze pertinent data and information.
  • Work with management to build effective and efficient orientation processes.
  • Support feedback programs for new hires.
  • Assist with exit interviews.
  • Support the daily operations of the Human Resources department in various areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • Recruiting experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer applications, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation, or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet Operator Status, under the company Driving and Safety Policy.
