About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Aston Carter plays a crucial role in the People/HR Division, focusing on delivering top talent to meet organizational needs. This position involves collaborating with hiring managers to understand job requirements, influencing staffing decisions, and ensuring a positive recruitment experience for both internal and external candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand and prioritize job opening requirements, influencing staffing decisions based on business needs.
  • Establish service level agreements and set clear expectations with hiring managers.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition sourcing partner and facilitate the assessment process with hiring managers by conducting thorough intake sessions, clarifying staffing needs, and ensuring job descriptions accurately reflect required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Gain visibility of the internal job seekers pool by partnering with HRBPs and/or Talent Management.
  • Develop and implement the best selection process in terms of strategy, tools, and participant experience.
  • Utilize a consultative approach with hiring teams for assessment and selection to best meet business needs.
  • Provide guidance and influence to business leaders to ensure the right people are hired for the right positions at the right time.
  • Act as a resource to hiring managers on conducting behavioral interviews and facilitate the selection process to ensure effective, legal interviewing practices.
  • Manage a positive internal and external applicant experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Influence the overall hiring process to achieve timeliness and agreements.
  • Assist hiring managers in developing and gaining approval for competitive offer packages.
  • Facilitate understanding of offer components to gain offer acceptance from applicants.
  • Respond to talent acquisition needs and inquiries from business leaders, hiring managers, TA leadership, etc.
  • Provide hiring managers with accurate and timely updates on applicant activity, track talent acquisition metrics, and report trends and issues to TA leadership, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date applicant records in the applicant tracking system for accurate reporting and analysis.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with business, hiring managers, and other talent acquisition functions.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to other Talent Advisors on the team.
  • Manage specialty Talent Acquisition projects relative to the supported businesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience/training.
  • 2+ years of experience recruiting for open positions.
  • 1 year of reporting experience related to Talent Acquisition performance and metrics.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, ability to establish credibility, and partner with leaders to identify talent gaps, needs, risks, and plans for action.
  • Strong customer orientation and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of employment law and corporate recruitment practices.
  • Leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of competency-based interviews and assessment techniques.
  • Strategic thinking, creativity, and innovative thinking skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of workforce planning (forecasting, identifying specific needs, skills, locations, and behaviors).
  • Familiarity with SuccessFactors or other large enterprise ATS systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels within the organization.
  • Physical ability necessary to safely and successfully perform the essential functions of the position, with or without any legally required reasonable accommodations that do not pose an undue hardship.
