About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Adams County plays a crucial role in attracting and engaging top talent through innovative recruitment practices. The specialist will also provide consultation services to client groups and participate in job fairs and recruitment events, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for candidates and hiring managers alike.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, train, and champion the applicant tracking system.
  • Collaborate on crafting recruitment strategies including goals, branding, and marketing to attract top diverse talent.
  • Partner with internal teams to create captivating inclusive and representative job advertisements.
  • Provide exceptional candidate service and support, guiding applicants through the process.
  • Offer technical assistance and expertise to internal stakeholders on recruitment methods and techniques.
  • Host new employee orientations to foster a positive onboarding experience.
  • Act as a talent ambassador at job fairs, campus events, and networking opportunities.
  • May provide supervision, training, and/or mentorship to interns and job shadow participants.
  • Participate in the development and facilitation of curriculum/training materials for hiring roles.
  • Handle administrative tasks like filing, scanning, and document maintenance.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of HR functions, procedures, and policies, and recruitment trends.
  • Effective communication skills, in person, over the phone, and in email.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in crafting and implementing successful recruitment strategies.
  • Intermediate user of applicant tracking systems.
  • Research complex issues and propose policy/procedure improvements.
  • Maintain objectivity and confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships with diverse individuals.
  • Adaptability to embrace new tasks and responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with an applicant tracking system.
  • Background investigations/compliance experience preferred.
  • HR industry certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
