About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Fincantieri Marinette Marine is responsible for managing the full scope of talent acquisition activities for the non-exempt, blue-collar workforce. This includes recruiting, interviewing, evaluating candidates, and facilitating the onboarding process. The role involves developing creative sourcing strategies, attending job fairs, and collaborating with hiring managers to meet staffing needs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in full scope of talent acquisition activities for non-exempt, blue-collar workforce.
  • Coordinate interviews, background checks, and new hire orientation processes.
  • Identify and develop creative sourcing strategies for recruitment.
  • Attend job fairs and career fairs to attract candidates.
  • Assist in college and intern recruiting initiatives.
  • Enter new requisitions in ADP Recruitment Management System and manage workflow.
  • Determine applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and qualifications.
  • Attract candidates by posting positions on appropriate platforms.
  • Evaluate applicants by interviewing and verifying qualifications.
  • Prepare official offer letters and complete onboarding processes.
  • Communicate orientation information to new hires prior to start date.
  • Assist applicants and new hires with benefit questions as needed.
  • Maintain files, forms, and database information related to recruiting.
  • Follow through on all resumes and applications received for company positions.
  • Recommend new policies and practices to improve organization attractiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or an Associate's Degree with at least two years of recruiting experience, or a High School Diploma with at least four years of recruiting experience.
  • Manufacturing industry experience in a union environment is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system is desired.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources policies, employment law, affirmative action, and recruitment practices.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Ability to establish consultative relationships with Hiring Managers.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, administrative, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure both as a team and independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with union recruitment practices.
