The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a crucial role in recruiting top-quality candidates for hiring managers throughout the organization. This position manages the recruitment process, which includes screening, interviewing, skills assessment, and candidate evaluation. The specialist builds strong relationships with hiring managers to influence, guide, and drive the recruitment process effectively. This role coordinates the talent acquisition process with hiring managers, ensuring that all requisitions are posted, candidates are screened, interviews are set up, and debriefs with interview teams are conducted. Additionally, the specialist advises on offer parameters and creates offers for candidates while maintaining the applicant tracking system in accordance with department procedures and government compliance requirements. In terms of process management, the Talent Acquisition Specialist manages the recruitment process for a functional area, collaborating closely with hiring managers on new and replacement requisitions. They maintain the ATS (applicant tracking system) to ensure compliance with company policies and government requirements. The specialist prepares offer letters and may present offers to candidates, conducting the new hire administration process, which includes receiving employee numbers and preparing new hire paperwork. They manage their workload using process metrics and KPIs, including Time to Fill, Quality of Hire, Manager Feedback, and Candidate Feedback, to drive the recruitment process and report progress. The specialist also provides guidance to hiring managers by confirming specific needs and requirements, setting expectations for the difficulty of searches, and analyzing reports to inform and influence leaders. They counsel hiring managers on offer parameters and educate internal customers on the recruiting and selection process through ongoing counsel and periodic training sessions to enhance staff management skills. In terms of sourcing, the specialist posts positions and works with a Talent Sourcer on hard-to-fill positions, providing input to social media campaigns as needed. They create interview guides and evaluation tools for the hiring team and participate in project teams as assigned, performing other duties as assigned. The role involves evaluating resumes and applicants, screening candidates using defined recruitment methods, and conducting applicant screening interviews to gather work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements while providing information about Gordon Food Service and available positions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the recruitment process for a functional area, working with hiring managers on new and replacement requisitions.
  • Maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS) to ensure compliance with company policies and government requirements.
  • Prepare offer letters and present offers to candidates as needed.
  • Conduct the new hire administration process, including receiving employee numbers and preparing new hire paperwork.
  • Manage workload using process metrics and KPIs, including Time to Fill, Quality of Hire, Manager Feedback, and Candidate Feedback.
  • Maintain recruitment metrics including position control list, time-to-fill statistics, and turnover reporting.
  • Confirm specific needs/requirements with hiring managers and set expectations for the difficulty of searches.
  • Analyze reports and use relevant information to inform and influence leaders.
  • Counsel hiring managers on offer parameters and educate internal customers on the recruiting and selection process.
  • Post positions and work with Talent Sourcer on hard-to-fill positions.
  • Create interview guides and evaluation tools for the hiring team.
  • Evaluate resumes and applicants, and screen candidates utilizing defined recruitment methods.
  • Conduct applicant screening interviews to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews and debriefs with interview teams.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years previous staffing experience with recruiting, interviewing, and selecting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related degree preferred.
  • High school diploma required.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
