The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a crucial role in the recruitment and hiring process for the California Teaching Fellows Foundation. This position involves assisting the Talent Acquisition Manager in identifying and attracting potential new hires, ensuring that the organization meets its current and future staffing needs. The specialist will collaborate with site liaisons and site leads to stay informed about hiring requirements and will conduct searches for qualified candidates using various resources, including computer databases, networking, and employee referrals. A significant part of the role includes recruiting applicants for open positions and representing the organization at job fairs, particularly those held at colleges and universities. Approximately 35% of the specialist's time will be dedicated to answering questions and phone calls from prospective candidates, providing them with information about the application process and available positions. In addition to recruitment, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will handle clerical and administrative duties related to the department. This includes preparing and maintaining applicant reports, reviewing employment applications in the company’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and assigning qualified candidates to liaisons for interviews. The specialist will also ensure that personnel documentation is filed and maintained according to company standards. Advising managers and employees on staffing policies and procedures is another key responsibility, along with evaluating recruitment and selection criteria to ensure compliance with educational and professional standards. This administrative aspect of the role will take up approximately 50% of the workday. The specialist will also engage in professional development by regularly researching current trends in pre-employment processes, labor relations, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines. This aspect of the job will account for about 5% of the daily responsibilities. Finally, the role requires flexibility, as the specialist will be expected to perform other duties as assigned, maintaining excellent service to all personnel and demonstrating a commitment to fairness and sensitivity in all interactions. This portion of the job will take up approximately 10% of the workday.
