About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a crucial role in planning, developing, and implementing recruitment and staffing strategies for assigned department service lines. This position emphasizes the importance of building a well-qualified and diverse pool of candidates while providing exceptional internal and external customer support. The specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of the Recruitment Life Cycle and actively participating in team projects to enhance the overall recruitment process. In this role, the specialist will lead initiatives aimed at resolving problems and improving processes within the department. They will be expected to implement at least one process improvement initiative annually and conduct root cause analyses of recurring issues. The specialist will also be responsible for motivating and influencing others, tying their contributions to larger organizational goals, and fostering a unified health system culture. The position requires a strong service orientation, focusing on exceeding customer expectations and improving satisfaction. The specialist will assess customer needs and respond to service recovery issues promptly. They will also be involved in planning and decision-making processes, utilizing constructive thinking to analyze issues and generate creative solutions. Effective communication is essential, as the specialist will provide feedback, facilitate teamwork, and build strong relationships with stakeholders. The specialist will prepare job postings, assist with advertising, track applicants, and manage the recruitment process from screening to job offers. They will also coordinate recruitment events, develop effective strategies to attract diverse candidates, and maintain documentation related to sign-on bonuses and other recruitment metrics. Additionally, the specialist will stay current with market trends and participate in training and onboarding programs for new managers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement recruitment and staffing strategies for assigned department service lines.
  • Manage all aspects of the Recruitment Life Cycle.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Motivate and influence team members to align with organizational goals.
  • Provide exceptional customer support and service orientation.
  • Prepare job postings and assist with advertising efforts.
  • Track applicants and manage interview schedules and outcomes.
  • Coordinate recruitment events and represent the organization at external events.
  • Conduct behavior, competency, and skill-based interviews.
  • Partner with hiring managers to select top candidates for hire.
  • Ensure completion of background checks and new hire paperwork.
  • Communicate compensation and benefits information to candidates.
  • Maintain documentation related to sign-on bonuses and recruitment metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or previous human resources/recruiting experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Advanced knowledge of recruiting practices and exceptional leadership abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and independent critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of basic office equipment such as copiers and fax machines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is preferred.
  • Prior healthcare recruiting experience.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and social media sourcing.
