About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Colorado State University (CSU) plays a crucial role in supporting the strategic mission of the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position is responsible for managing the full life-cycle recruiting process, including identifying talent needs, implementing employer branding strategies, and establishing a strong recruiting pipeline for various technical and environmental science roles across the nation. The specialist will also streamline existing talent acquisition functions and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full life-cycle recruiting process including job postings, attraction strategies, screening, and interviewing applicants.
  • Utilize proven industry methods to seek both active and passive candidates.
  • Cultivate a robust talent pool of interested, qualified, and high potential candidates.
  • Develop creative outreach strategies to attract candidates using social networking and marketing.
  • Build a strong talent brand for CSU by improving candidate experience and liaising with employment agencies.
  • Track and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of recruiting strategies and their impact on retention.
  • Track all candidate processes within the applicant tracking system (ATS), including requisition generation and interview coordination.
  • Manage the candidate offer process and portions of the onboarding process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in full-cycle recruiting for roles at all levels within a scientific, government, technical, or related industry.
  • Working knowledge of local and federal employment laws.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software.
  • Demonstrated success in a metrics-based recruiting environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong understanding of environmental and technical roles with the ability to assess candidates' qualifications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.
  • Experience filling roles throughout the US.
  • Previous experience filling roles in a timely manner to meet contract terms.
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with various business partners.
  • Experience in or knowledge of DoD/Bid for Work environment.
