About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Pacific Southwest Container, LLC plays a crucial role in supporting the HR team by managing various aspects of human resources, including recruiting, hiring, training, and employee relations. This position is essential for ensuring legal compliance and maintaining the integrity of HR processes while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with HR daily processes including coordinating with the Talent Acquisition Manager on recruiting, testing, interviewing, and selection processes.
  • Ensure legal compliance regarding applicant tracking and provide administrative support for all HR recruiting events.
  • Screen entry-level applicants and provide routine information; maintain all employee application records.
  • Send out or conduct authorized reference checks, process and receive criminal background screening results, and physical and drug test results.
  • Initiate personnel actions, posting, hiring, promotions, reclassifications, and terminations in the HRIS system (ADP WorkforceNow).
  • Create and maintain employee personnel files.
  • Conduct or assist in employee new hire orientation and the communication of employee benefits.
  • Respond to routine questions and inquiries from applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, and hiring processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Provide support to the HR Team Leader and HR Representatives including data entry, completing call logs, filing, and running reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related degree preferred.
  • 1 year of office experience in Human Resources required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experience managing projects and problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and good judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with ADP WorkforceNow or other HRIS preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of office experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Recruiting Management and Cornerstone On-Demand Learning Management System preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Desire and commitment to learn and grow within the organization.
