About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the entire talent acquisition process for the City of Denton, including job requisition processing, posting open positions, and overseeing the onboarding of new hires. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations while promoting the City of Denton's brand to attract potential candidates.

Responsibilities

• Administer all aspects of the talent acquisition process from beginning to end, including verifying vacancies and processing position requisitions.
• Post job positions and ensure required documentation is obtained for new hires.
• Oversee the talent acquisition system, including data management and applicant tracking.
• Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the recruitment and onboarding process to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for the talent acquisition process and system, providing guidance and training to hiring managers.
• Maintain system accuracy by managing job postings and applicant tracking effectively.
• Assist with seasonal hiring processes in collaboration with the Parks and Recreation Department.
• Develop advertising materials to promote the City of Denton brand and attend job fairs and networking events.
• Evaluate current processes and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Stay updated on industry trends and compliance regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
• One year of experience in human resources, talent acquisition, recruitment, or onboarding.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local Government laws and regulations.
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting policies and laws.
• Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office 365 products.
